The late charge up the pitch by a goalkeeper whose side is on the verge of defeat is a staple of any half-decent cup competition or league.

And some were actually pretty good at it; Peter Schmeichel, Paul Robinson and who could forget Mart Poom (quickly shuts Wikipedia...) all pulled off the heroic charge from one area to the other and scored for their side in the dying minutes.

But it doesn't always work like that. Indeed, the sight of a goalkeeper wheeling away in celebration is seen rather less regularly than the sight of one huffing back, red-faced and facing up to the prospect of running further than they have ever had to before, as the opposition break and pop the ball in the empty net. For the glory-seeking shotstopper, it's an occupational hazard.

Well, one man has finally come up with a solution to the problem that has haunted goalkeepers since the dawn of time. And, with all great ideas, it's incredibly simple. Hitch a ride back to the goal-line on the back of a motorbike.

That's what this chap does and he makes it back way before anyone else. It works so well, it's hard to believe we won't be seeing it in the Premier League anytime soon....
