Jose Mourinho’s possible return to Chelsea hinges on three key factors, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claims the Portuguese tactician wants a monster £12million-a-year salary to return to Stamford Bridge.

And, Mourinho also wants Frank Lampard to be given a new contract to ensure the England midfielder is still in west London if he arrives.

34-year-old Lampard has been in fantastic form this season, but his contract expires in the summer and he’s been linked with a move abroad – most notably to LA Galaxy in America.

The paper also claims that, for ‘The Special One’ to come back to the club next season, Chelsea must secure a top four finish and return to the Champions League this term under Rafa Benitez.

Mourinho currently earns £10million-a-year at Real Madrid, and as well as a pay rise, the paper goes on to report that the ex-Porto chief would be looking for substantial transfer funds from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to bolster the squad.

The appointment of Mourinho would certainly please supporters, who have failed to take to Benitez after he replaced Roberto Di Matteo in November.

And, his track record with Chelsea is fantastic, having won two Premier League titles, two League Cup trophies and an FA Cup. The Champions League eluded him, however.
