Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues admits that joining Barcelona would be a good move for Neymar.

The Brazilian international is tipped to leave the club at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports, with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City also keen on the 21-year-old.

However, Rodrigues revealed that the club will let Neymar make his own decision regarding his future, and acknowledged that Santos were well aware of interest in the player.

"Barcelona are a great club with excellent players and they would be good for Neymar. We are aware of the interest in the player. But there are other clubs interested. It will be Neymar's decision,” he told La Xarxa Radio.

Rodrigues was also realistic when it came to discussing the possibility of keeping the player at Santos, admitting that whilst they want to keep him until the end of his contract in 2014, they will struggle to compete with the financial might of teams in Europe.

"Santos want the player to stay at least until after 2014. But we know it is hard to compete with the economic power of the Spanish clubs," he concluded.

Were Chelsea able to beat the La Liga sides to the signing of Neymar, he’d join compatriots David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires in the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City have far fewer Brazilians in their squad, with veteran Maicon the only samba star playing under Roberto Mancini at the Etihad Stadium.

The South American connection is much more obvious at Barcelona, of course, with Dani Alves, Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez all regulars at the Nou Camp for Tito Vilanova.
