Despite speculation linking Swansea manager Michael Laudrup with a number of summer signings the Dane remains reserved on his transfer plans.

Laudrup, who in his first season in charge, guided Swansea to their historic Capital One Cup win and a place in the Europa League will surely be looking to add to his current squad in order to compete both at home and abroad next season.

And the Dane has been linked with Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas and Chelsea’s on loan striker Romelu Lukaku amongst others, but at the moment the 48-year-old continues to remain coy over possible summer deals.

Lukaku, who is rumored to be one of the Swansea boss’s summer targets, has impressed this season whilst on loan at West Brom and may be available again come the summer.

It looks as though the Belgium striker may not feature in Chelsea’s first team plans after they have been linked with a number of new strikers and so could be loaned out again.

It is thought that Laudrup would therefore pounce on this opportunity, however the Barcelona legend has refused to speculate on this and any other potential targets.

“It's good to hear talk about those players and Swansea because the players are at a very high level," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post.

"I would be feeling sorry if you mentioned names and I thought: 'I don't think they are good enough to play here'.

"But you are talking about one player who is the captain of a Spanish side and another who has scored 13 goals with West Brom this season.

"They are good players, and I always like to have good players."

A number of other names have already been mentioned as possible arrivals at the Liberty Stadium this summer and Laudrup admitted that this speculation would only increase as the transfer window approaches.

He added: "I am sure there are another five or six names you could ask me about now, and no doubt there will be many more names mentioned than the actual number of players we need.

"We cannot sign them all — or even try to sign them all, but we need to be strong next season, even stronger than we have been this season.”
