A lot of the time football is given stick for the money in the game - the attitude of some of the players and the actions of the fans, but every so often, the beautiful game can produce beautiful moments.

Jose Mourinho found a Mexica, named Abel Rodriguez, sitting in the streets outside Real Madrid's training ground in the snow and after a brief chat with Rodriguez, Mourinho offered him a chance of a lifetime.

The Real manager told him that he would travel with the club to Manchester to be the kit-man during their Champions League tie with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Rodriguez's occupation was to clean the floors in Los Angeles' underground station.

The 41-year-old male spent his last few dollars flying to Spain in an attempt to watch el clasico.

Once arriving in Spain, he then made his way to the Real Madrid training ground where he sat outside and waited and that is where Jose Mourinho saw him.

Mourinho's recalled the story and told Sports Illustrated

"It was a miracle that I saw him. I saw Abel seated on the road outside the training ground.

"I was leaving in my assistant Rui Faria's car, and there were a lot of people outside. But I told Rui, 'Stop! It's the guy from Los Angeles.

"Amigo! What are you doing here?' Mourinho asked from the car.

"I come to visit you guys, Rodriguez replied. It's my first time in Europe, and my dream has been to come and see games. I was hoping to see El Clasico.

"But there are no more tickets, Mourinho said. "Where are you staying?

The Mexican answered saying: "I haven't done anything about that. "My priority was to see you guys and then make my arrangements.

"If I didn't see you guys, I'd go to the stadium and try to get a ticket. And if that didn't work, I'd fly back home."

Jose Mourinho actually remembered the guy as he worked on the training grounds that Madrid used during their time in America. After a brief chat with him, he then booked Rodriguez a room in the same hotel as the players and also gave him VIP tickets for the game.

The story then continued, as Mourinho said: "I told him, 'No way [you're returning home], you come to Manchester with us and work as a kit man.

"You help us and you live a bigger dream, a Champions League match from the inside!'

The 41-year-old then revealed that he was debating whether or not to go to Spain in the first place, but admitted it was his wife that encouraged him to do it:

"I was really indecisive about going, but the encouragement came from my wife.

Rodriguez's wife told him: "You should go. It's always been your dream."

A special story made by the special one."
