The 2012/13 Premier League campaign is coming to an end, but clubs will soon begin planning for next season.

Arsenal look like securing the Champions League place for another season and, with a host of top players linked to them in recent times, they are certainly looking to bolster their squad.

However, the Gunners need to offload a number of under-performing players who have been crippling the finances of the club.

The following is a list of players that Arsenal should be looking to offload in the summer.

Tomas Rosicky

Tomas Rosicky has been an enigma for the Arsenal fans; he has often impressed with his effortless displays on the ball but injuries have meant that the player has had little or no effect on Arsenal's fortunes. The Czech Republic international earned an extension for his performances at the end of last season, but this year has seen him revert back to the injury table.

Abou Diaby

Abou Diaby is a similar case to Rosicky. Although he is still relatively young and has been impressive whenever he has taken field for the Gunners, another recent injury left him ruled out for nine months.

Arsenal should make sure that they either cut their losses, or make him sign a pay-as-you-play deal.

Bacary Sagna

Bacary Sagna has not been the same since he has come back from injury. He has also had his spats with the club and it will be good if Arsenal decided to let him leave and bring in someone else as cover for Carl Jenkinson.

Andrey Arshavin

The Russian playmaker hasn’t made the impact that was expected of him when he signed for the Gunners; his performances on the field have seen him reduced to a squad player and he has been sparingly used in the last few years. It was recently confirmed that Arshavin will leave the club at the end of the season, which is good news for all concerned.

Other mentions:

The other players who should be offloaded come the end of the season are: Sebastien Squillaci, Marouane Chamakh, Lukasz Fabianski, Johan Djourou, Nicklas Bendtner, Andre Santos and Park Chu-Young.

Getting these players off the books will not only free the wage budget but will also help new players and existing youngsters get into the first team.
