Barcelona’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich will hinge on little factors, according to assistant manager Jordi Roura.

The Spaniard – who took the managerial reins while Tito Vilanova's recovered from illness – predicts a close contest in Bavaria.

“I think it’s going to be a very equal tie, and it’s going to be decided by small details,” he told the official Barcelona website.

“The team that imposes its style of play will have the advantage.”

Bayern Munich may have already secured the Bundesliga title – their 23rd overall – but Roura insists that his side are looking forward to the match.

“We are a competitive team and we’re on form,” he said. “We’re extremely excited and eager to play.”

The ex-Barcelona midfielder was however complimentary towards the German opposition, admitting they have had a fantastic campaign.

“We know how difficult it will be, Bayern are having a spectacular season,” he conceded.

However the Catalan giants are just two wins away from securing their own domestic title, and are widely expected to have done so by the time they face Bayern Munich in the second leg.

There is unrelenting speculation about Lionel Messi’s availability for Barcelona’s trip to the Allianz Arena, but Roura was quick to quash the rumours.

“It looks as though his recovery is on the right track,” he said. “We’ll see how he feels and we’ll talk to the doctors.”

The Argentinian forward has scored an incredible 57 goals for the club this season, and played a big part in his side overcoming Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.

His second-half introduction paved the way for Barcelona’s equaliser, but assistant coach Roura prefers to reflect on the performance in the previous round.

“Hopefully we’ll play the return leg at the Camp Nou like we did against Milan,” he said.
