There are a number of players on the Real Madrid books that are in danger of being moved on this summer.

Here is a list of players that the club needs to offload so that they are able to bring in reinforcements next year.

Kaka never really became part of the first team after his multi-million pound move from AC Milan. The Brazilian failed to replicate his form and has been used sparingly by Jose Maurinhio. The player is one of the highest paid at the club and, although Real are unlikely to recoup much of the transfer outlay on Kaka, by letting him leave they will free up a huge chunk of the wage budget.

Fabio Coentrao

The Portuguese left-back was brought to the club to shore up the full-back position because Marcelo was thought of as too much of a defensive liability. Although the player has performed fine whenever he has been called up to the team he has been unable to dislodge the Brazilian as first choice. There are clubs interested in the former Benfica star and he should leave this summer.

Xabi Alonso

The player has been a vital cog in the Madrid team since his move from Liverpool in 2009. Speculation regarding the players transfer has started after it was revealed that the midfield playmaker has refused to sign a new contract for the club. Many clubs across Europe would have been alerted and are likely to make a bid when the season ends.

Nuri Sahin

The Turkish playmaker has found it hard to establish himself in the Madrid line-up with the limited opportunities afforded to him. He moved on a loan deal to Liverpool but wasn’t able to establish himself there; however, a switch back to Dortmund has seen the player get back to his best. The Bundesliga outfit will look to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
