Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is determined to remain as so next season and has already planned his sides pre-season tour in America.

The Potters boss has spent the last few weeks with his assistants preparing a schedule for his side similar to that of last season.

Pulis has been aided in his plans by assistant manager Dave Kemp as well as chief executive Tony Scholes, who has released details of the proposed summer training.

"The tour to the United States was extremely successful last year," Scholes said. "First and foremost in achieving our primary objective of helping to prepare the squad for the season ahead.

"The football management and players were impressed with the high standard of the opposition for all three games, as well as the quality of the training facilities."

An interesting development from the release was the news that the opportunity to visit the US occurred as a part of the deal that saw former FC Dallas winger Brek Shea come to the Britannia Stadium.

Scholes added: "The transfer of Brek Shea subsequently presented an opportunity for us to play a match against his former club which is where we will be heading as part of this tour."

It would seem that the potentially premature plans for a summer tour from Stoke is an attempt from Pulis to stamp his authority on the team as speculations rises over his tenure at the club with his side struggling.

Stoke sit just six points above the drop and might want to concentrate their efforts on safety this season before allowing their minds to jump on a plane to the US.
