Tottenham Hotspur target Fernando Llorente insists he's made the right decision in ditching the chance to play in the Premier League, opting instead to sign for Juventus, reports talkSPORT.

The Athletic Bilbao striker has been heavily linked with a move to England for the past two years, but has snubbed the advances of top-flight clubs in order to stay in La Liga.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas had been credited with an interest in bringing the 28-year-old to White Hart Lane, but missed out on the Spain international's signature after he chose to move to Turin.

Llorente will link up with the Serie 'A' champions this summer, meaning Tottenham must turn their attentions to alternative targets when the transfer window reopens on July 1.

"They [Juventus] are one of the best on the continent," reflected the Athletic Bilbao star. "They've shown over the last two seasons that they are the best in Italy.

"I'm very happy. Although I'm focused on Athletic right now, there is something very important waiting for me in the future."

Llorente has suffered a dip in form, having scored just three goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this season. However, he'll be looking forward to embarking on a new chapter in his career in Italy from 2013/14.
